Dr Retief Botha
Veterinarian & Practice Owner (BVSc)
Dr Retief Botha is the senior veterinary director at Currimundi Veterinary Clinic. Together with his wife Sue, they were the former owners for 10 years of Maroochydore Veterinary Surgery.
Dr Retief has practiced as a small animal veterinarian since 1996. Qualifying in South Africa (South African Vet), then working in England (English Vet), and since 2004 he has been serving the Sunshine Coast community, helping pets and their owners.
Dr Botha is also very actively involved with the human side of community care, as a qualified Surf Life Saver.
He has a Veterinary interest in skin diseases, dentistry and geriatric care, but is also a good all-round practitioner and excellent surgeon. Dr Retief is looking forward to providing you with trustworthy, professional and value for money vet care.

Dr Hannah qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 2017, and started her veterinary career in Port Augusta, South Australia, where she worked at a busy small animal clinic for 4 years. However, Dr Hannah is happy to be back home on the Sunshine Coast again.
Dr Hannah enjoys all aspects of veterinary science, and has been lucky to have managed a wide variety of cases in Port Augusta to give her plenty of experience before finding her way to us here at Currimundi Vets.
Since being back on the coast, Dr Hannah has been enjoying catching up with old friends and family. She also loves spending time hiking and relaxing with her Weirmaraner Jasper.

Georgie Lee
Veterinarian (BVSc)
Dr Georgie has wanted to be a veterinary Surgeon from a very young age and recognised this dream when she graduated from the University of Queensland in 2024. Her love for animals was kickstarted with a trip to Australia Zoo when she was younger and she is looking forward to starting her veterinary career at Currimundi Veterinary Surgery.
Dr Georgie has special interests in soft tissue surgery, skin and ear diseases and she is excited to provide the best patient care she can!
In her free time, Dr Georgie enjoys going to the beach, trying new foods, running or spending time with family, friends and of course her dog Herbie!’

Sue has a little Jack Russell cross, called Beetle, and in her spare time enjoys hiking mountains, camping and going on adventures.

Jolien Stephens
Client Support Manager (BSc Human Resource & Business Management)
After travelling around the world for a few years, Jolien has settled on the Sunshine Coast with her husband Joe and Golden Retriever Pippa. Jolien's background is in Human Resource Management, but she's always loved working with animals (she even met her now husband whilst working at a primate rehabilitation centre in South Africa!). To have a job where she can combine her interest in HR with her love for animals is very satisfying.
Jolien enjoys being active, and you can often find her running, biking and doing Pilates. She also loves travelling, spending time with friends, going to the beach, meeting new people, reading, and sipping coffee.

Laura grew up with a large variety of pets, and currently has two cats, Tali and Tao. Laura first joined us in 2021 as a work experience student for just one day a week, to enable her to gain the practical experience required for her to complete her Certificate III and IV in Animal Studies/Veterinary Nursing.
